Hijacked memorials?
Along with the many inscriptions that have nothing to do with 9/11, Arizona’s 9/11 memorial commission wanted to include the names of the 19 9/11 hijackers on the memorial in Phoenix. Commissioner Paul Eppinger explained why:
“For me what it means is, that… our foreign policy, for years, has focused on total support of Israel.”
When asked what that has to do with 9/11, in his best moral equivalency voice, Mr. Eppinger responded by blaming the victims:
“I think that it promoted the violence.”
Fox News reports the commission may reconsider some of the inscriptions after next month’s election yet, so far, commissioners and Arizona Governor Napolitano (who is up for reelection) have “stood by the memorial.”

Does Arizona’s “9/11″ memorial sound and look familiar? It should.
At first, at Ground Zero, politicians were not paying attention while political hacks attempted to bring extraneous history lessons onto hallowed ground.
Now, in New York, politicians have taken over a private memorial foundation. We wonder if they have again forgotten that at Ground Zero the memorial is supposed to be to the victims of 9/11 and the museum is supposed to be about 9/11. What happened in Phoenix is what would have happened in New York had the International Freedom Center not been removed from the plans and what will happen at Ground Zero if activists sneak back onto hallowed ground.
To be clear, we advocate these five things for Ground Zero:
A memorial to those who were murdered on 2/26/1993 and 9/11/2001 with the names affiliated (more coming on this soon)
A museum about what happened on those days, the rescue and recovery efforts, and the national outpouring of support to those efforts at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Shanksville.
No names of terrorists anywhere on or near the memorial (let the history books display their names).
No politics at Ground Zero — period.
No extraneous history.
